Welcome to the Surrey ASC Website

The Surrey Association of Sustainable Communities, established in 2002, is an umbrella organization for community based associations and groups in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.

Surrey ASC:

  • provides opportunities for information sharing and education
  • promotes coordination of the groups
  • identifies common issues and takes appropriate action to resolve them following consultation with member groups
  • promotes community development and community building, including acting as a resource to emerging groups
  • promotes "sustainability" principles and measures
  • encourages consultation between citizens and government

Our Purpose:

Surrey ASC seeks to further the livability and sustainability of communities in Surrey. In order to achieve vibrant, safe and livable communities, we are promoting working together in a cooperative manner for the betterment of our communities and neighbourhoods. While we represent residents, we seek to work with other stakeholders, such as business operators, employees, institutions, non-profit groups, and all levels of government.

We believe that communities must be well planned to ensure that each geographical area of Surrey meets the needs of local residents in a sustainable manner. By sustainability, we mean meeting our social, economic, and environmental needs in such a manner that future generations will be able to meet their own needs.
